Piglet update

The piglets are all still alive. We have decided to doctor the runt a little bit. He has a cut on his ham, that is preventing him from putting any weight on it. They are really growing very fast.

On the left you can see Ermine mouthing off, as usual,  They are starting to get curious about Darryl Faye's slop. Probably this weekend sometime, they will all be out in the field and all along the creek bank, just looking for trouble.

They are nearly impossible to catch! even the runt (with only three good legs.)

The piglets are all still alive.  Looks like we might loose some tails, from what appears to be sunburn.  Darryl Faye had them outside on a pretty sunny day, so our theory at least makes sense to us.  These babies are getting harder and harder to handle each day. 

Everyone's favorite piglet in the front.  Ermine won't let us pet her at all.  She's so mean.

The piglets are all doing well.  They've all survived some pretty cool nights since they were born.  It's interesting to see how differently each one is built, and personality traits are already becoming clear.  It's probably too soon to be choosing which will be keepers, and which will be sold.  I'm sort of fond of this little girl on the left (with the white diamond on her head).  In case anyone is wondering, Darryl Faye, the mother of these pigs is a cross breed, prob duroc, and tamworth in her pedigree-and she was bred to a purebred Hereford boar.

There's the little girl I'm thinking of keeping (Ermine) and we'll prob keep the spotted boy to the right, just because he's different.  He's also one of the longest pigs in the litter.
